Ronald Lehrman was born on January 3, 1947, in Granite, Oklahoma. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on March 20, 1967, and completed basic training at Fort Bliss, Texas, in June 1967. Pvt Lehrman next attended Military Police School at Fort Gordon, Georgia, from June to August 1967, followed by service as a Military Policeman with the 572nd Military Police Company at Fort Ritchie, Maryland, from August 1967 to April 1968. SP4 Lehrman then served as a Military Policeman with the 560th Military Police Company in South Vietnam from May 1968 until he was captured and taken as a Prisoner of War in Cambodia on May 20, 1968. After spending 22 days in captivity, Sgt Lehrman was released by his captors on June 10, 1968. He then served as a Military Policeman with the 546th Military Police Company at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, from July 1968 to September 1969, followed by service as a Military Policeman with the 197th Military Police Detachment at Fort Sill from September 1969 until he left active duty on January 28, 1970. Sgt Lehrman was Honorably Discharged from the U.S. Army Reserve on March 1, 1973.
